ADWIN : connecting and empowering one million women by 2030

Thirty years after the Beijing Declaration, gender equality remains a challenge, particularly for African and Afro-descendant women. Despite progress, they continue to face persistent barriers: limited access to education, inequalities in healthcare, difficulties in obtaining financing, and underrepresentation in decision-making positions.

In response to this reality, ADWIN (African and African-Descendant Women Impact Network) emerges as a concrete solution. Its ambition? To break these barriers and create opportunities for millions of women worldwide.

An international network led by committed leaders

ADWIN is not just a platform; it is a movement. It brings together inspiring women from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared belief: empowerment comes through access to resources and opportunities.

On March 6, 2025, ADWIN was officially launched with the participation of influential figures such as Débora Katisa Carvalho, First Lady of Cape Verde and patron of the initiative, Euphrasie Kouassi Yao, Ivorian Minister for the Promotion of Women, as well as leaders from the economic and political spheres.

Four pillars for a lasting impact

ADWIN takes a holistic approach built around four key pillars. WinSkills provides training to strengthen women’s professional and entrepreneurial skills. WinConfidence offers a mentorship network to foster self-confidence and inspire future generations. WinCapital facilitates access to funding for women entrepreneurs. WinWell focuses on physical and mental well-being, essential for personal and professional success.

The goal is ambitious: to connect and empower one million women by 2030. Through strategic partnerships, particularly with UNESCO and other international organizations, ADWIN aims to create a sustainable and effective support ecosystem.

A call to action

ADWIN delivers a powerful message: it is time to recognize and value the contributions of African and Afro-descendant women to society. This network provides them with a voice, visibility, and, above all, concrete solutions to transform their future.

On this International Women’s Rights Day, ADWIN reminds us that equality is not an abstract concept but a necessity. Together, these women are building a future where every talent can flourish.
